A space to talk openly, feel heard, and better understand yourself.

Sometimes life can feel hard, and carrying everything on your own can be exhausting.  Therapy offers an opportunity to pause, reflect and make sense of what's going on. My role is to support you with compassion, curiosity and care, as you navigate whatever challenges you're facing.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties. As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, ACT, CBT, Transactional Analysis (TA) and mindfulness tailoring therapy to your individual needs and helping us find a way of working that feels right for you.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, relationships, loss, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with who you are, and live more in line with what matters most to you.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and available in person in Stockport or online.  I offer a free introductory phone call so we can get to know each other, discuss what you're looking for, and see whether I'm the right therapist for you. Further information about fees and practical arrangements can be found on my FAQs page.

Hi, I'm Rachel

"A less stressed life isn't created by becoming someone different, but by understanding yourself more deeply, accepting yourself as you are, and living in line with what matters most to you."

I'm a qualified integrative therapist and counsellor based in Stockport, offering therapy and counselling both in person and online.

Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you, helping you develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and a deeper

understanding of the challenges you're facing.

The philosophy behind Less Stressed Living is simple: a less stressful life doesn't come from fighting ourselves or constantly trying to change who we are. It comes from understanding ourselves more deeply, making space for our experiences as they are, and reconnecting with what matters most to us. When we stop struggling with who we think we should be, life can begin to feel more balanced, meaningful and manageable.

How I Can Help

A space to explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion

Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about who we are and where we're going. We may find ourselves struggling with difficult thoughts and emotions, repeating patterns that no longer serve us, or feeling pulled away from what matters most to us.

Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your experiences. Together, we can explore what's going on for you with curiosity and compassion, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and make sense of your experiences.

My role is not to offer quick fixes or tell you what to do. Instead, I work alongside you as you deepen your self-understanding, navigate life's challenges, and reconnect with what matters most to you.

I can support you with:

• Anxiety, stress and worry
• Low mood and depression
• Loss, grief and bereavement
• Relationship difficulties
• Workplace stress and burnout
• Life changes and transitions
• Self-esteem and self-confidence
• Difficult thoughts and emotions
• Feeling stuck, lost or overwhelmed
• Personal growth and self-discovery

My Approach

My Approach

Therapy tailored to you

No two people are the same, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Together, we'll explore your experiences in a way that reflects your unique needs, circumstances and goals.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, accepted and understood. From this foundation, we can explore your experiences with openness, curiosity and compassion, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and make sense of the challenges you're facing.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful, including:

  • Person-Centred Therapy - creating a supportive space for self-exploration and personal growth

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - helping you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings while reconnecting with what matters most to you

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - exploring the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours

  • Transactional Analysis (TA) - increasing awareness of patterns in relationships, communication and ways of relating

  • Mindfulness - developing greater awareness of the present moment with openness and curiosity

Together, we'll work towards greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and a way of living that feels more aligned with who you are and what matters most to you.
